Information You Submit
When a visitor enters a name, phone number, or address in a search form, that input passes to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Lancaster People Search does not retain a copy of those searches on its own servers. A message sent through the contact channel contains only the details the sender chooses to provide. Those details are used to answer the message.
Technical Data Collected
The hosting systems create ordinary server logs that can include an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. Aggregated log data helps maintain the Lancaster site and shows which resources visitors use. Cookies or comparable technologies may support basic analytics and, when applicable, advertising measurement.
How Site Data Is Used
Limited visitor data is used to run the service, diagnose errors, measure overall traffic, and improve the Lancaster record-navigation pages. Lancaster People Search does not sell a visitor list or create individual user profiles.
Outside Sites and Search Services
Links may lead to City of Lancaster departments, Los Angeles County custodians, California agencies, courts, libraries, or outside search tools. Each destination sets its own privacy practices. Information submitted on those sites is controlled by their policies, not this one. The same distinction applies to sponsored search results, which come from a third-party company.
Providers and Required Disclosures
Hosting and support providers process server logs for Lancaster People Search. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the technical data described above. Visitor data may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it. It is not otherwise shared.
Security and Retention
An encrypted connection serves the site. Server logs are kept only for as long as the stated operational purposes require. Since Lancaster People Search has no user-account system, it does not hold a visitor password or account profile.
Privacy for Minors
Lancaster People Search is intended for people who are at least 18 and is not directed to children. Personal information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 18. If a minor appears to have submitted personal information, use the contact page so it can be deleted.
California Privacy Rights
Depending on the governing law, a visitor may have rights to know about, access, correct, or delete personal information held by a website. California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the Delete Act. Because Lancaster People Search holds little visitor information, a request generally involves checking the contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page to submit one.
The California Privacy Protection Agency operates the Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, known as DROP. The agency says one request can reach more than 600 registered data brokers. Beginning August 1, 2026, those brokers must begin deleting covered data within 90 days. DROP concerns data held by registered brokers. It does not delete official records maintained by the City of Lancaster, the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, Los Angeles Superior Court, the Assessor, elections offices, or other government custodians.
Official records follow different laws. The California Public Records Act is codified in Government Code Division 10, sections 7920.000 through 7931.000, while protected voter data, court files, vital records, and Safe at Home addresses have their own access limits. A request to seal, correct, restrict, or remove an official record must go to the agency or court that keeps it. Lancaster People Search cannot change a government file or a third party's copy.
